Join us on a service trip to the PCA campgrounds in Cherokee NC. Years ago, Memorial used to send a large group in spring to clean-up and open up the cabins for the summer camping season; then we would go back in the fall to close things up. This fall we will be partnering with Westminster Presbyterian in JC to close up the cabins and do some maintenance around the grounds. Typically people go down on Friday evening, stay in the cabins (you will need to bring your own bedding/sleeping bags), then work starts bright and early Saturday morning. If you have questions, please contact Ed Robinson (423-342-8562)
Join us after the worship service on Sunday, October 14th for a Fellowship Lunch. We are asking each family to bring a Main Dish AND a side, veggie, salad or dessert to share! This is a great time for catching up with your church family and enjoying some good home-cooked food! Don’t miss it! Chris Horne, our RUF minister to Appalachian State University will be bringing the message to us that morning.
Come join us as we serve those in need in our community by providing a hot meal. We can use everyone to serve, heat food, wash dishes, sweep floors...remember Christ's words: "I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me" Matthew 25:40
The Deacons have scheduled an Church-Wide Work Day to begin at 8:00 am on Saturday, October 6th to do clean up and repair. All members are asked to try to set that morning aside to help share the load. There is a job for every age and talent. This is a great time to fellowship and support what the deacons hope will be a year of church revival and growth as we reach out to more in the community. We hope to see you there.
Ladies, looking for a place to pray and study God's word with other Christian ladies? Memorial is the place! We have a ladies Bible study that meets on Tuesdays at 10:30 to around 12:00. They are studying the book “If You Want to Walk on Water, You’ve Got to Get Out of the Boat!” by John Ortberg. Come check us out!
